Applications are invited for membership of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology which "promotes and supports the study of the kidney and urinary tract in health and disease and aims to ensure that the highest professional standards for the practice of Nephrology in Australia and New Zealand are maintained ".
Membership Types & Eligibility
Membership of the Society consists of Ordinary Members (Full, Affiliate and Retired), Associate Members, Honorary Members and Life Members.
Generally, Ordinary Members are those people who:
- are an ordinary resident in the Commonwealth of Australia or New Zealand; and
- in the opinion of the Council hold an appropriate university degree or who are in the opinion of the Council have an equivalent qualification or who in the opinion of the Council are otherwise qualified; and
- are actively engaged in the study of renal function or disease.
ANZSN Ordinary Member- A member who is resident in Australia or New Zealand who is entitled to full membership benefits including voting rights and eligibility to be elected to Council.
ANZSN Retired from Practice- A member who is resident in Australia or New Zealand who has retired from practice.
ANZSN Affiliate Member- Includes students, trainees & allied health professionals. A member who is resident in Australia or New Zealand who is entitled to full membership benefits other than voting rights and eligibility to be elected to Council.
ANZSN Associate Member- A member who is not currently resident in Australia or Zealand who is entitled to full membership benefits other than voting rights and eligibility to be elected to Council.

Once you have entered your information online, please print out a copy of the completed application for signing. You will need to have your application signed by a Proposer and Seconder who are current financial Members of the Society. Please note: The role of the Proposer and Seconder is to act as referee and to confirm that the applicant is known by at least two Society Members.
The completed and signed forms (by all 3 parties) should be posted, scanned or faxed to:

The Approval Process
Once applications are received by the Society Office, they are submitted for acceptance at the next Council Meeting. Members will be notified via email as to whether the application was successful or not. If your application is successful, we will send you instructions on how to login to the Member area of the website.
Subscriptions: You do not have to pay any subscription fees until your membership application is approved. If you are a Student or Advanced Trainee, you will need to provide a brief email or letter from your Supervisor confirming that you are a Student or Advanced Trainee under their supervision.
